My Weightloss Journey

This was supposed to be my cheat for the week. I know I could have really taken advantage of this opportunity and had a cheeseburger or pizza or Mac and Cheese. Its very difficult for me to order things that are not good for me.

Technically this would be my week 4, but I was stuck in bed for a little over a week with a bad chest cold. Even though I wasn’t working out I still stuck to the food plan. Last Friday I attempted to work out with Dante and I found that I still wasn’t 100% yet. I rested over the weekend and we tried again Monday morning and my results and endurance were much better.

Workouts are tough and tiring, but if they aren’t then I am not getting the benefit. At least I wasn’t hacking up a lung anymore and my breaks did not take long to catch my breath. I also got back to my 2 workouts a day running at a 3 incline and walking at an 8 incline on the treadmill. Felt really good.

Today I weighed in and went from 283 to 275 = 8lbs weight loss! Just 2 days of working out and sticking to the meal plan paid off. I was very hesitant to get on the scale because I didn’t exercise for so long that I though the results were not going to be positive, proved myself wrong!

Dante said the bet is still on since I was sick. “So bet still stands ok? You’re officially @ -27lbs with 3 full weeks of training which puts you ahead of my biggest loser trumping pace of -150 in 6 months instead of your already world crushing 9/10 month window you gave yourself. Remember our challenge? -38lbs in 4 weeks? I’ll give you the week you were out due to sickness and time starts today. You need to pull a double digit week this week for the $200. I know you can do this! In fact I think you’ll beat it lol”

I’m very pumped and todays workout was intense with a 40lb weight vest through 80% of the workout today (photo shows post workout, such a painful looking smile). By the way jump squats with a 40lb vest should be outlawed! - Just saying. We did a lot of boxing today and my arms are gone…work should be fun.

This morning I went to a friends gym to work out with her and my mom. I did 45 minutes of cardio with no coughing or congestion. It felt great because the conjestion was holding me back during my last 2 attempts at working out with Dante. Anything that increased my heart rate caused me to start coughing or have a hard time catching my breathe.

Being sick really set me back to really taking this journey to the max, but now that I am well again there is no stopping me from achieving my goals.

Now if I can only get the weather to warm up so I can actually get some real road work done. I have until April to be running a 5k and thats not too far from now.

Lunch - Yesterday we went to our annual company luncheon for Elk Grove Online. It was hosted at Vallejos Mexican Restaurant in Sacramento. When I heard it was Mexican food I was hesitant to go as it can be limiting on healthy choices. Lucky for me they have an entire low carb menu. I opted for the low carb burrito which eliminates the tortilla and replaces it with a lettuce wrap. The burrito was filled with grilled chicken, pick de gallo and avocado. I have to say it was very good and I felt like I stayed on plan even though I originally considered this as my cheat meal.
